Homeschool Happenings
HEART Co-OpI encourage all families homeschooling in Horry County to check out the HEART co-op of homeschoolers. Fall semester classes are currently underway. On my girls' schedules this semester: Digital Photography; Painting in Acrylic; Tap, Ballet & Jazz; Seasonal Crafts; Apples & So Much More; Bible Bowl (Book of Matthew); Eric Carle Unit Study; Community Helpers; Legos; Preschool Letter Numbers; and Creation vs. Evolution (I'm teaching this one - so excited about it!) American Girl Book Club
As members of the American Girl book club, each month we read a novel based on the life of a girl from a different time and place in America's history. Then we meet with fellow homeschoolers to spend a day discussing, creating, playing and eating with the time period and theme of the book in mind. This is a wonderful way we can bring history to life for our little American girls!
Teach Them Diligently Convention
The Teach Them Diligently homeschool convention is going on in Spartanburg, SC on May 2 - 4. I attended this convention (our first ever homeschool convention) last year, and it was an amazing experience! I recommend this to ALL Christian parents, not just homeschoolers. They offer a ridiculous number of great workshops, and this year's main speakers include Pam Tebow, Heidi St. John, Sally Clarkson and Ken Ham.
